Courses and information
Venturing into the world of beekeeping may appear daunting at first, but it needn't be. It is not some sort of black art, but has been overcomplicated over the years. Equipment on offer today is often not only unnecessary, but also expensive! Our aim is to provide clear, accurate information to increase people's understanding, confidence and ability to make informed decisions.
There is no right way of keeping bees, but there are plenty of wrong ways. We would like to help people understand the options available in terms of bee strain, hive type and management techniques. Beekeeping should be a pleasurable and mutually beneficial experience for both beekeeper and bee colony. Praze Bee offers a variety of ways for people to build confidence, knowledge and experience in pleasant surroundings and at their own pace. At the training apiary we have a selection of different hives which you can experience and understand, before making any expensive decisions! For further details please click on the following: Visits to your own apiary can also be arranged, as can tailored individual courses, designed to suit your needs. If you can't find what you're looking for, then please let us know on an enquiry form and we will endeavour to find a solution. Certain sessions may be ideal as a gift for that certain someone who's always difficult to find something for! |
A course is currently running at the University campus at Tremough, Penryn. For further details please find the University's Bee Society page on facebook - FXU Beesoc
