Beekeeping course

The beekeeping course comprises seven sessions, each lasting two hours. This course provides the knowledge required to successfully keep bees.
Session titles are:
  • The bee and the beekeeper.
  • The colony, lifecycles, roles and seasonality.
  • Bee strain traits and hive requirements.
  • The beekeeping year - what to do and when.
  • Bee health, pests and diseases.
  • Integrated pest management.
  • Preparing to start and practical summary - the do's and don'ts of beekeeping
Session costs are £10.00 for adults and £5.00 for under 16s. Please complete an enquiry form, without obligation, to register your interest and we will try to accommodate with times or location.

A course is currently being run at Tremough campus, Penryn. Details are available at FXUbeesoc on facebook. Further courses will commence in April 2013.
